             Opaque Pairs (08/22/07) – As most of this spawn in very similar they will split into categories, opaque and crystal, and I will most likely not post pictures of individual fish.  For Clean pairs, I will select the best available males without any color faults and match them with suitable females.  Opaques with minor color faults of red or black have only a spot or two on them and are otherwise clean, while the crystal with faults have a streak or two of red or a minor wash to their finnage.  Remember that all opaques develop some color as they age, but I will attempt to choose the cleanest possible fish from each category on a first come first serve basis.

            Mustard Gas Pairs (08/30/07) – As always this is a diversely colorful spawn, with your traditional Yellow/Purple/Black tri-colored butterflies as well as the “Sunrise” in Blue/Red.  There are also some interesting teal and green colors starting to show up so I am excited to see what will come of them.  A few are true halfmoons and a number are super-deltas, with the remaining showing good delta finnage.

"Sunrise" type coloring

         We have many more fish from this spawn available for $15 a pair, and while we are not always able to fulfill specific color requests all these fish share a similar gene pool and you are likely to get the colors you want when you spawn them.

According to one of the more popular betta breeders in the USA, these are very hard to come by.  She is selling one for $50 (female only) at http://bettatalk.com/stock_for_sale.htm#sushi%20bar%20menu , but we thought that $20 might be a more reasonable price.

Spawns Coming Soon:

           Black Butterfly (12/02/07) – The parents of this spawn came from Thailand and we are very excited to see how the offspring turn out as both parents are stunning fish.  This is a smallish spawn of only around 40 or so fry, but they are growing well and already starting to get some black coloring in their fins.  Because this will be the basis for our Black/White butterfly line we will only be releasing a limited number of fish form this line so keep checking back.

           Blue Butterfly (12/14/07) – An old classic, but still one of my favorites.  The male of this spawn is one of our better fish as far as body shape goes, and has a near perfect butterfly pattern.  He has produced a couple of very nice offspring in the past (currently in our breeding program) so we are looking forward to seeing these fry grow up.  UPDATE 01/30/2008: noticing some Double Tails in this spawn, could be interesting.
